Animatronic Head

A realistic silicone dummy head animatronic is created for TV Presenter and author Dr. David Lewis as a visual aid for his shows. A bald cap is applied using Pros-Aide and a release agent is smeared into facial hair and anywhere else the alginate mould may want to stick. The alginate is mixed and thoroughly applied to the entire head past the collar bone. Just before it sets, alginate is carefully applied around the nostrils without blocking the airway.
When the alginate is completely set, plaster bandage is built up to create a jacket mould. The back of the jacket mould is created first and when it is dry, a release agent is applied around the edge and the front portion of the mould is created. When the mould is dry, it is carefully removed. Pros-Aide Remover is used to remove the cap and any residual Pros-Aide on the skin.
