Severed Arm Prop

When the plaster bandage is dry, the mother mould is taken apart. The silicone is cut with a pair of sharp scissors, and peeled away from Matthew's skin. The silicone is cleaned and laid back into the plaster bandage mother mould. Tape is placed around the opening of the mother mould, so no chips of plaster fall inside when the casting material is poured in.

A two part plastic is tinted to get a basic flesh tone, and is then mixed and poured into the mould. While the plastic is liquid, it is slushed around the surface of the silicone to form a skin of plastic around 5mm thick, and is then left to harden. When the plastic is cured, the silicone is peeled back once again to reveal the casting, and special care is taken not to snap the tips of the fingers.
