The polystyrene sculpture is sealed with a brush on silicone, and cut apart into smaller sections. As it is such a large sculpt, a mould making machine which both mixes and sprays out moulding material at the same time is used, first spraying on a layer of rubber to capture the detail, and then spraying on a layer of rigid plastic to result in durable mould pieces. When almost 30 mould pieces have been created, each one is de-moulded and cleaned ready for casting.
