The
dry mould is opened and the clay which was the sculpture is
cleaned out, leaving a solid, negative impression of the sculpture.
The mould filled with latex which will be left to begin to thicken
against the plaster forming a thick skin. When this skin has
enough depth, the excess latex is poured out and the rubber
is left to dry thoroughly before 2 part foam is poured into
the mould to support the skin. After a bonding layer of Pros-Aide
is applied, the skin is painted.
