Bigfoot Bust

When the painting is finished, it is time for Siobhan Hall to begin the hair punching process. This is a time consuming technique where each hair is pushed in a single strand at a time using a needle to give the impression that the hair is actually growing out of the skin rather than simply being glued to the surface.

Different colours and shades of hair are mixed together to give a more realisic look to the finished bust, and over a week, the hairs are added carefully to the model (including a 'receding' hairline to give the creature more life) and the piece is complete. This model has featured in many books and publications including the special effects book Robots, a childrens book of cryptozoology, the FX magazine Horrorshow and even in a canadian newspaper.
